Comparative before and after graphs for anxiety and depression

Clinical Measures

For those interested in data, the graphs above show the results of the last dozen clients supported.

Whilst quantititive data doesn't always tell the full story, and the qualititive reviews from clients are arguably more valuable, the graphs show some remarkable scores.

At the start of treatment, at consultation, I ask clients to self assess against the Gad-7 and PHQ-9 clinical measures that are used universally across healthcare to measure anxiety and depression. The graphs show the start scores in red.

At the end of treatment clients again self assess and these scores are shown in green.

Simply put, all clients show improvement in both depression and anxiety, most have significant improvements and have gone from severe levels to mild.

What this means in reality, is often life-changing for clients. It is also reassuring that the work done is making a difference.

Stuart delivering aid to Ukraine

April 2022 Aid Trip to Ukraine

I was moved by the invasion of Ukraine, seeing the scenes of devastation, the massive refugee crisis and the needs of those fleeing war. As I run a charity, work with refugees and have many contacts, I started to research how I could help and what was needed.  The picture was confused; many national charities were trying to mobilise, local people were looking how they could help and Poland, amongst other countries, was seeing a huge swathe of refugees coming across their borders.

I linked up with a charity working on the frontline, at the main border camp in Przemysl, Poland and they told me what was needed.

Thanks to some very good friends and supporters, we managed to secure a van, travel support, donations that were needed now (not next week or next month) and a plan was made.

A 4am start, ferry, 30 hour drive, through 3 countries got us to Przemysl, just a few miles from L'Viv, that had been bombed that morning.

The main refugee camp was an eye opener - the charities working 24/7 to feed, clothe and support the thousands of refugees coming through on a daily basis, were doing amazing work. Charities from the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Israel and many more, worked together to support the huge need. Refugees were arriving with minimal possessions and many were at risk from people traffickers, who had started to ply their trade in the area.

Babies and young children had little and were being temporarily housed with everyone else in the refugee centre.  The situation was dire but also uplifting in terms of the humanity shown by everyone working together to help those in need.

The aid provided immediately helped those in need, medical supplies, toiletries, sanitary and baby wear etc.

We helped a little, more is needed, but we felt we had to do something.

On returning home I have decided to offer free therapeutic trauma support to anyone fleeing violence, be it a warzone or other traumatic situation, knowing the devastating impact this can have.

Please get in contact to find out more and a massive thank you to everyone who supported this venture.

The Science Behind Hypnosis

Professor Andrew Huberman, lead Neurobiologist at Stanford university and one of the world's most respected neuroscientists, discusses why hypnosis is so effective.

Brain Scans

The Neuroscience Behind Hypnotherapy

I am often asked how hypnosis works and why it can be so successful. People often confuse hypnotherapy with stage hypnosis, which is very different.

Renowned and published neuroscientist Dr Andrew Huberman of Stanford University said, "Rewiring the brain requires focus and deep rest. What's interesting about hypnosis is it brings both those things together at the same moment. So normally you would work really hard on something and later sleep, and thats when the [neuro] plasticity occurs. But hypnosis accellerates that."

As neuroscience develops, and works with hypnosis, the science behind why it is so successful is becoming clearer: https://lnkd.in/dfy3RQg

Hypnotherapy can access neuroplasticity for positive change. It works for improving sleep, weight loss, smoking cessation, building self-esteem and confidence, overcoming fears, phobias and dealing with stress and anxiety amongst many other issues that affect people's lives and wellbeing.
